Two contrasting pieces, fully memorized

One selection from classical vocal literature

One selection in the style of your choice

An accompanist will be provided

Sight-Reading

Be prepared to sight read and sight sing simple rhythms and melodies

Test of vocal range, vocal quality, and tonal memory

Repertoire

Two contrasting pieces from standard repertory on your primary instrument

Scales & Technique

Know the scales and arpeggios appropriate for your instrument

One printed letter from a music teacher or worship leader familiar with your skills

What's The Process

Audition Expectations

In-person audition on campus, by voice or primary instrument

Vocalists perform two contrasting memorized pieces (one classical, one of your choice); instrumentalists perform two contrasting pieces from standard repertory and demonstrate scales and arpeggios

Sight-reading and sight-singing assessment

Vocalists also complete a vocal range, quality, and tonal memory test

Theory placement test

Professional attire similar to a professional interview
