Requirements
•Bullet: Two contrasting monologues, 60-90 seconds each
•Bullet: Monologues should demonstrate a connection to the character's emotional life, vocal clarity, clear physical choices, and a solid understanding of the text
•Bullet: All monologues must be prepared and performed in English
•Bullet: Do not use props or costumes other than the chair that is provided
Material Selection
•Bullet: Choose age-appropriate material for which you feel a personal connection
•Bullet: Contrasting styles or tones
•Bullet: A published monologue (from a play or film) or a fully written original monologue is acceptable; improvised or partially improvised pieces are not allowed
•Bullet: Film or television monologues must use the official script, not a transcription
•Bullet: Present a classical monologue only if you have extensive experience with classical text and it best demonstrates your training
•Bullet: Read the plays or scripts your selections come from and be prepared to answer questions about the play, scene, or character

•Bullet: Material you do not fully understand
•Bullet: Sexual content or excessive profanity
•Bullet: Stories about violence, addiction, or abuse
•Bullet: Unsourced internet material
