Repertoire List

•Band/orchestra instruments: prepare two short contrasting etudes or one solo piece from solo and ensemble festival, or as recommended by your private lesson teacher

•Band/orchestra instruments: prepare a two-octave major and minor scale of your choice

•Band/orchestra instruments: prepare a chromatic scale over the full range of your instrument

•Piano: prepare two contrasting works from the standard classical repertoire

Admission Pathway

•Admission is through the general university application; Alma does not publish a separate admission audition requirement for BM Music Education

•Performing arts scholarship auditions are optional and open to students pursuing music education

Scholarship Audition

•Instrumental-emphasis students use the instrumental or piano scholarship audition requirements

•Be prepared to discuss high school band/orchestra experience and any secondary instruments

•Piano memorization is recommended but not required; band/orchestra memorization is not required
