•Allegheny’s liberal arts model pairs the major with a required minor in a different field
•Generalist training: every major studies acting, directing, design, stagecraft, and management
Training & Productions
•Playshop Theatre has staged over 500 productions since 1929, from Shakespeare, Moliere, and Shaw to new student-created work
•Mainstage season performed in the Gladys Mullenix Black Theatre at the Vukovich Center for Communication Arts
•Students can act, stage manage, or run crew in Playshop productions starting their first year
•Senior Comp capstone, often produced as a full show or workshop
Beyond the Classroom
•Faculty-led summer study-away seminars in Great Britain, India, Italy, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and South Africa
•Internship placements include Cleveland Public Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, The Public Theater, Signature Theatre, and New York Theatre Workshop
