Talent Award
•Optional Music Production Talent Award review is separate from admission and based on an online portfolio adjudicated by Music Department faculty
•Applicants must submit a complete Albright admission application before sending portfolio materials
•Talent Awards are $2,000 per year, and students may receive up to two awards
Portfolio Materials
•Submit at least four music production samples
•Valid repertoire may include DJ mixtapes, beat tapes, remixes, studio recordings of electronic music, synthesizer patches, or production sample packs
•Styles may include hip-hop, house, techno, trap, EDM, ambient, trance, experimental, and related genres
•Rappers may also review the Vocal and Instrumental Performance Talent Award criteria
Evaluation
•Composition: musical content is composed and arranged according to genre standards
•Recording: audio is clear and free of background noise, clipping, and digital artifacts
•Mix: track volume, frequencies, stereo width, and effects are balanced
•Mastering: playback and loudness are comparable to similar pieces
Renewal
•Award recipients participate in the Albright Rap Collective and help support artists associated with Lion Records
