PROGRAM RECOGNITION
•One of only two institutions in Alabama and two HBCUs in the nation to offer a BFA in Dance
•Nationally recognized and respected program
•Practical and philosophical approach with foundational techniques in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and hip hop
•Unique opportunity to expand knowledge with courses on the African diaspora
TRAINING
•Faculty connections with internationally known institutions: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Dance Festival, Atlanta Dance Connection, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Gus Giordano Dance School
•Intensive performance opportunities including seasonal dance concerts and guest artist collaborations
•Professional connections through guest artists and master classes
•Senior capstone performance to showcase growth and development
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
•Alumni work with Off-Broadway productions, National Football League dance teams, and national ballet companies
•Graduates have performed in The Color Purple (2023), Coming 2 America (2021), and the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show
•Alumni have danced at Coachella, BET Awards, and Rolling Loud with artists including City Girls and Usher
•Graduates placed at Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Philadanco, and Walt Disney Cruise Line
