Training
•Dance minors receive foundational training in modern dance and ballet
•The minor introduces students to acting, music, and costume design alongside technique study
•Dance technique classes are reserved for dance majors and minors, with no class larger than 18 students
Performance & Productions
•Dance and theatre majors and minors are the only students permitted to audition for roles
•Dance Adelphi features faculty and guest-artist choreography in a weeklong production
•The Dance Showcase presents student work from composition classes, pointe classes, and independent projects
Degree Flexibility
•The 26-credit minor includes Ballet I-III, Modern Dance I-III, dance theory/composition, and dance history or analysis
•Electives may include music theory, aural skills, beginning acting, advanced ballet or modern, dance performance, and costume study
•Dance minors also complete theatre tech hours behind the scenes
